New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday took an apparent dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his address to the nation. In his poetic jibe, the former Congress President asked the Prime Minister to “tell the truth and how the caravan was looted”.

"Tu idhar udhar ki baat naa kar, yeh bata ki kaafila kaise loota...mujhe rehjano se gila toh hai, par teri rehbeer pe sawal hai," the 50-year-old Congress leader tweeted which roughly translates to "Don't beat about the bush, tell clearly how the caravan was looted, I have a grudge against the robbers, but your leadership is in question".

तू इधर उधर की न बात कर,
ये बता कि क़ाफ़िला कैसे लुटा,

मुझे रहज़नों से गिला तो है,
पर तेरी रहबरी का सवाल है।

Gandhi's party also expressed disappointment over PM Modi's address and questioned why "he didn't address the issue of Chinese incursions". "Forget condemning China, the PM is too afraid to even talk about it in his national address," the grand old party said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, apart from Gandhi and Congress, West Bengal MP and Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra also took a jibe at the Prime Minister and said that he “walked around the Panda in the room” and “did not talk about anything useful”.

“Seventeen minutes of walking carefully around the Panda in the room.. Kyon PM Ji- abh kuch kaam ki baat ho jaaye?,” she tweeted.

Gandhi’s apparent jibe at PM Modi comes just moments after he addressed the nation and announced about the extension of the free ration to the poor till November.

In his sixth address to the nation since the beginning of coronavirus pandemic in India, PM Modi said over Rs 90,000 crore will be spent on the programme’s extension, and if the last three months’ expenditure on account of the free ration scheme is added then the total budget will be about Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

Earlier in the day, Gandhi had once launched a stern attack and said that PM Modi says 'Make in India', but its government at the Centre buys from China.

"The entire country knows that China has snatched India's sacred land. Everyone knows that China has transgressed into Indian territory at four places in Ladakh," the Congress leader said in a video message ahead of PM Modi's address to the nation.

"Narendra Modi ji, please tell the country when will you throw out China's army from India's territory and how," he said in a video message.

"Hope the prime minister will definitely agree to these suggestions in national interest. This is true national service and patriotism," he said in a tweet in Hindi, sharing his video message.

Gandhi has been attacking Prime Minister Modi and his government over the India-China border standoff in eastern Ladakh, that led to the death of 20 Indian soldiers in a violent clash between the troops of the two countries on June 15.
