6 doctors, nurses, ventilator at Nitish Kumar's residence, RJD questions VIP treatment
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Hours after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s niece tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday, the Patna Medical College has deployed doctors and nurses at the official residence of the Chief Minister.
Six doctors, three nurses and a ventilator has been deployed at the residence of Nitish Kumar after the Secretary of the state health department directed the Patna Medical College to do so as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus.
“Patna Medical College issues an order to deploy six doctors, three nurses, and a ventilator at the official residence of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, after Secretary of the Health Department directed the hospital to do so as a precautionary measure against COVID-19”, the Bihar health department informed today.
Earlier in the day, niece of of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who had been staying at his official residence in Patna, had tested positive for COVID-19. The test reports of niece of the chief minister, came out on Monday after which she was taken to the isolation ward at a hospital for treatment in Patna. The sprawling 1, Anney Marg premises were, meanwhile, being sanitised thoroughly, they added.

Decision faces criticism from Lalu’s RJD:
Meanwhile, the decision by the state health department to deploy doctors, nurses and ventilators at CM’s residence draws controversy after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav questioning the extra care given to the chief minister.
Tejashwi Yadav training his guns at JD(U) government said that the samples of the chief minister took only 2 hours to be tested and reports were received on the same day, while the samples of the common man take over 5-7 days to be tested.

He also said that while the poor people of the state are lacking the proper medical facilities, the chief minister’s residence has turned into a ventilator-equipped hospital.
“When CM's sample is sent for #COVID test, reports are received in 2 hrs. But in case of common men, it takes over 5-7 days. Now CM residence has been turned into a ventilator-equipped hospital, while poor people are suffering due to lack of medical facilities” RJD's Tejashwi Yadav said as reported by ANI.
